Roland de Lassus (1531, Mons - 1954, Munich)

A shining star of Mons at the time of the Renaissance in Europe

Mons 2015, paying lively homage to the more than divine Orlande, the Prince of Musicians…Roland de Lassus, acclaimed throughout the Renaissance for the daring expressiveness of his polyphony. From 3 to 11 October, across a week full of events of all kinds: from the vocal purity of Vox Luminis to the improbable crossover of Sonic Lassus in the Collegiate Church of Sainte Waudru, from La Grande Clameur to the improvisations in the town centre cafés. Concerts, exhibitions, discussions, on top of the release of books and CDs, Lassus has definitely come back home!
